White Post takes its name from the white post erected by surveyor George Washington to mark the route to Lord Thomas Fairfax's wilderness manor, Greenway Court. A white post at the junction of SRs 628 and 658 still points the way to Fairfax's estate, torn down in 1858. Learn More...
